BE IT REMEMBERED: A HISTORY OF TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH ON CAPITOL SQUARE, by Lisa Klein
This "grassroots" history focuses on the ordinary people who are often overlooked in traditional church histories. It touches on the everyday rituals of work and worship through the years, while exploring a variety of larger questions: How did church members respond to social issues such as slavery, women's suffrage, the civil rights movement, and homelessness in the city.
The congregation was founded in 1817 and has maintained a continual presence on Capitol Square, the heart of Ohio's capital city, Columbus.

IT'S NOT YOUNG ADULT FICTION!
No, but it is a project I'm proud of. It took me on a spiritual journey that led to a new career path. In writing the book I found that I love doing historical research and telling peoples' stories.

PRAISE FOR TRINITY'S HISTORY
"This history understands that at its most basic level, every parish is a gathering of the people of God. The people come alive--the itinerant, unpaid Bishop Philander Chase, young Maria Kelley contemplating her wedding vows, the benevolent banker William G. Deshler whose gifts within and without the parish improved a growing city, the clergyman whose religious journey led him back to his Jewish roots. . . All parish histories ought to be modeled after this one."
